to get involved and get informed about international development! You can help
us to find, use and share solutions that address the root causes of poverty.
fellowships
AKFC's internship programs train and send recent graduates and young
professionals overseas to learn first-hand about development. These
opportunities are aimed at Canadians with a commitment to international
development and who are seeking an additional "stepping-stone" to build their
careers.

Fellowship in International Development Management (IDM Program) offers
specialized development management training in Canada and overseas work
experience with non-governmental organizations in Africa and Asia.
The 9-month
Fellowship in International Microfinance and Microenterprise (IMM Program)
offers specialized microfinance and microenterprise training in Canada and
overseas work experience with a non-governmental organization involved in small
savings and loans programs among individuals and communities.
The 9-month Young Professionals in Media (YPM Program) offers young Canadian journalists the opportunity to gain experience working with a leading media institution in the developing world, and equips them with an aptitude to work effectively in today’s global media environment.

employment and
volunteer opportunities as well; there are lots of ways for young people to
get involved in the development field.
Seminars
Aga Khan Foundation Canada hosts events, activities and other opportunities
in schools and on campuses designed to stimulate thinking and involvement in
development issues. The
University Seminar Series engages Canadian students in discussions about the
challenges of poverty reduction, providing an opportunity for students to
dialogue with development practitioners in Asia and Africa.
