Dr. Lye, the inaugural Executive Director of the Fraser Mustard Institute for Human Development at the University of Toronto, highlighted the importance of the first 1,000 days in a child’s life in establishing trajectories in health, learning and social functioning as an adult.
This event was part of the AKFC Seminars, a sustained series of events and other learning materials that stimulate deep conversation on selected themes in development. The current seminar series focuses on early human development, with previous speakers exploring interventions to reduce child mortality and the importance of micronutrients in determining the child's potential.
