For AKFC volunteer Raheil Moradi, learning is a life-long journey. With two university degrees already under her belt as she works towards her PhD, she is truly a scholar for life.
According to Raheil, “The greatest challenge societies face is ignorance.” Creating opportunities for education around the world, and embracing them whenever possible, confronts this challenge head-on.
Raheil’s own education has been shaped both inside and outside the classroom, seeking out learning opportunities in all areas of her life. For three years she has been a volunteer with World Partnership Walk and World Partnership Golf, during which time she has been exposed to a variety of knowledge and skills.
“Learning how to be part of a team, to embrace diversity, and to work under pressure are all keys to your success,” says Raheil. “These aren’t skills you would normally learn through reading books. And what a better way to learn when you know you are making a positive impact in the life of someone else!”
Becoming involved with Walk and Golf was an easy decision for Raheil because the values of AKFC and the AKDN align well with her own. As she says, “I strongly believe in AKFC and the incredible work it has done in making a real impact in the lives of millions around the world.”
