Farah Bundeali, Partner, Consumer Markets at KPMG, and Toronto World Partnership Golf Chair, has been a supporter of Aga Khan Foundation Canada’s World Partnership Walk and Golf campaigns since she was a child. Farah’s dad’s passion was contagious with his friends, Farah’s friends, and of course in their own household.
“I remember my dad pulling me into different projects to raise awareness of the Walk,” she says. “We would set up booths in malls and stuff flyers. I think ever since I hit double digits with my fundraising, supporting this cause in various ways became a must. I now think about it every day.”
Farah not only engages her personal and professional networks to collect donations through the Walk but also to participate in corporate sponsorships through the Golf
Seeing corporate supporters come together to enjoy a day of golfing, networking, and good food fuels her to return every year. “It’s inspiring to see our supporters sit back and see the difference they have made.”
But the impact her commitment has on the lives of those who need it most is at the heart of why she is so passionately involved. “For me, AKFC is not just a charity. I love the progressive nature of AKFC around diversity, and specific work around women’s health and women’s education,” says Farah.
Farah’s goal this year is to increase awareness: “More and more I believe we are an interconnected world. In the future, I hope supporting our global community will be perceived as supporting our neighbors. Together, we empower others and we make sustainable differences.”
