Afghanistan is facing one of the world’s worst economic crises. Political instability, high unemployment, widespread poverty, and food insecurity are just some of the challenges threatening the country, especially for women and girls.
This project aims to support the livelihoods and economic resilience of people in Afghanistan, particularly women, through Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) opportunities in the health and early childhood development (ECD) sectors. Project activities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing technical and vocational training, upskilling, and other professional development opportunities to women healthcare workers, community health workers, ECD practitioners, and family and household members of community health workers
- Providing training, resources, and opportunities to women community health workers, allied health workers, and ECD professionals on entrepreneurship and establishing micro-enterprises
- Delivering business development and financing support to promising women-led or women-employing ECD or allied health businesses
- Working with community members and traditional leaders to increase knowledge, awareness, and support for inclusive access to services, opportunities, and livelihoods
