February 27, 2014 - Although primary school enrollment is increasing around the world, a staggering 57 million children are still not in the classroom. Half of these children live in countries torn by conflict – and that number is on the rise. A sense of safety and stability is often out of reach, especially for girls. Schools and a quality education can provide a safe haven, while delivering important life skills and restoring hope for a new generation.
