October 20, 2016 - We have a treasure chest of qualitative methods to draw upon in assessing multiple contributions to social and development goals. These include realist evaluation, contribution analysis, process tracing and participatory learning and action. But weak incentives and poor practice can easily undermine their credibility and cost-effectiveness.
