March 30, 2015- Is “global citizenship education” just a new buzzword or a concept that is transforming education policies, approaches, and, ultimately, the dynamic between developed and developing countries? 

March 31, 2015 - The Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, in association with the Canadian Council of International Co-operation and Aga Khan Foundation Canada, hosted a workshop to explore possibilities for harnessing development data with Canadian stakeholders, in particular representatives from Canadian civil society organizations.

April 22, 2015 - Visitors joined Aga Khan Foundation Canada on Wednesday, April 22 for the launch of Together: An exhibition on global development.

June 6, 2015 - AKFC was pleased to host Doors Open at The Delegation of the Ismaili Imamat on Saturday, June 6 from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Visitors stopped by for a tour of the building, and explored our new interactive exhibition on global development. Visitors also spoke with our staff about the work that we do in Canada and overseas, and perused our photo gallery to learn about some of our food security and education projects.

June 9, 2015 - International media coverage of Africa is dominated by foreign correspondents, collecting stamps in their passports as they bounce from one news hotspot to the next. But Nigerian-American journalist Chika Oduah sees a new way forward for coverage of the continent.

June 11, 2015 - In the summer of 2015, 23 accomplished young Canadians took flight around the globe. They spent eight months contributing their energy and skills to organizations in the developing world, working in fields from microfinance to education to journalism. But before the 2015-16 International Youth Fellows embarked on their adventures, AKFC was pleased to celebrate their achievements.

June 17, 2015 – Together with the remarkable progress and increasing global engagement, emerging economies also face a number of new development challenges; rising inequality, navigating the middle-income trap, balancing economic growth with environmental sustainability, ensuring good governance, and addressing the poverty paradox – whereby most of the global poor now live in middle-income countries. These challenges constitute a transformative shift of the current development paradigm based on addressing poverty in low-income countries, forcing traditional donor countries, CSOs and NGOs to re-think their development strategies.
