The first stone in a strong foundation for maternal, newborn and child health in Afghanistan

April 18, 2013 – Afghan women are one step closer to safer childbirth. A foundation-laying ceremony on April 18 marked the beginning of construction of the new Bamyan Provincial Hospital in central Afghanistan – a much-needed facility in one of the most dangerous places in the world to become a mother.

Central Asia and Afghanistan: Tapping Canadian know-how to expand trade

February 26, 2013 – Through a unique partnership between the University of Central Asia and Carleton University’s Centre for Trade Policy and Law, Canadian trade experts are sharing their skills in Central Asia to help an emerging class of civil servants strengthen ties.

February 3, 2013 – The team that designed the Delegation of the Ismaili Imamat building in Ottawa has received the prestigious Governor General’s Medal in Architecture 2012, recognizing outstanding achievement in projects by Canadian architects.
