Areej is a 24-year-old woman who has struggled to find a job. Like many young people in Syria, she’s felt the economic impact of a civil war that has left 90 percent of the population under the poverty line.
Supported by Canada, the Adolescent Girls’ Education in Crisis Initiative (AGENCI) aimed to empower adolescent girls and young women pursuing their education in crisis-affected areas of South Sudan, Syria, and Uganda.
